Probably the most important piece of ferret equipment, your ferrets cage is what will keep him safe when you are not home, etc. When choosing a cage, you'll want to find one that is sturdy, and made to last.
How big should the cage be?
At minimum, the cage should be at least 2ft by 2ft by 3ft. This is comparable in size to the "SuperPet Deluxe My First Home for Ferrets" (clicky)
Can I use a Guinea Pig/Rabbit Cage?
No. Most of the single level tub cages sold in pet stores are too small for rabbits and g-pigs, let alone a ferret.
Those cages with wire floors sure look easy to clean!
No Way! Wire floors are NOT a good option for ferrets because their toes can get caught and broken in wire mesh. If using a cage with wire floors/ramps/shelves, be sure to cover them with soft fabric (old socks make great ramp covers!)
